CORKY CRAFTS

Hello and thank you for visiting my webpage!

I have been crafting for 50+ years. I started with ceramics, even owning my own kiln for a while, making and selling pieces for about 25 years. After that, I changed to making a variety of Christmas Ornaments. Originally I used salt dough. I did that for a couple years then added wood, acrylic, paper, embroidery and alcohol ink ornaments. I recently discovered that recycled corks are a great medium. The challenge is to figure out how to make the corks resemble, say a snowman, and then stack the corks to actually look like one. This years newest items are chicken and gnome ornaments! The prototype is usually close, but some tweaking is always necessary to have a completed project that meets my expectations.

Even though my craft medium has changed over the years, the joy I get out of creating and working on the projects has never changed.  I absolutely LOVE to craft!  I've even been trying to pass that love of crafting/creating to others.  Each year I invite the neighborhood kids over for Craft Day.  It's always a hit with the kids and I have a lot of fun too!

I'm constantly trying to think of new ideas and ways to use the corks that are so unique, it will grab your attention and make you say "I've got to have one of those"!  I never know what's going to come up next.
